IP Network Readiness Assessment Policy
Avaya's IP Network Readiness Assessment Policy:

All converged solutions that have IP enabled components must have an IP network readiness assessment performed prior to solution implementation.

Why is an IP Network Readiness Assessment Needed?
IP Network Readiness assessments are critical for quality installations and successful support of IP enabled solutions. IP Network Readiness Assessments provide valuable information on packet jitter, loss and delay, all of which impact the end user's experience and satisfaction with the solution.

A Network Readiness Assessment measures attributes of a customer IP network (both WAN and LAN) to verify compliance with Avaya's published requirements for high-quality voice over IP. Empirical evidence shows that a Network Readiness Assessment greatly reduces post-installation rework, troubleshooting and subsequent revenue adjustments.

The IP network readiness assessment may be performed by Avaya or by a qualified third party such as a business partner or customer. In either case, the customer must provide Avaya with a current state network topology map and network design.

What is a Network Topology Map and Network Design?
A Network Topology Map provides details on the actual hardware in the network and connection diagrams. The map should reflect the entire portion of the customer network that will carry the converged traffic. This information is necessary to support a successful implementation and ensure effective support.

The Network Design outlines where and how endpoints and servers are connected in order for Avaya to provide effective support. The Network Design identifies the type of trunking used between locations and /or between location and the public network.
