G700 Gateway

Description:

The G700 Media Gateway is a 19-inch 2U chassis containing 4 media module bays and one Avaya P330 Expansion Module bay. The G700 Media Gateway contains an integrated Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) engine which can support up to 64 G.711 TDM/IP simultaneous calls, or 32 compression codec (G.729 or G.723) TDM/IP simultaneous calls. Additionally, an optional VoIP compression media module adds support for an additional 64 channels. It has two 10/100 Ethernet ports and a serial port for Command Line Interface (CLI) access. The G700 Media Gateway offers optional media modules for WAN and endpoint connections.

The G700 can also be configured with an S8300 Media Server for internal call control or a survivable gateway. The S8300 supports an IA770 INTUITY Audix® internal voicemail system. Using the Avaya Octaplane® Stacking Fabric, up to 10 G700 Media Gateways and C360/P330 switches can be stacked. Multiple stacks may be connected to each other via fiber, ATM, gigabit copper, etc.

Features:

Multi-Protocol Support
An integrated TDM/IP architecture supports a variety of station and trunk interface options including IP telephones, DCP digital telephones, analog telephones and trunks, E1/T1 trunks, ISDN PRI and ISDN BRI trunks, and E1/T1 WAN data lines.

The G700 can be configured for integration into a wide variety of all TDM, hybrid TDM/IP and all IP telephony environments, giving enterprises great flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.

Local Survivable Processor (LSP) Support
An optional S8300 Media Server can be installed in the G700 as a Local Survivable Processor that takes over telephony control as server of last resort.

The LSP option enhances availability to the remote office by providing a local server option that continues to provide telephony service in the event of a failure event.

Shared Modules and Servers with the G350 Media Gateway
The G350 and G700 Media Gateways share many common media modules and the same S8300 Media Server.

Reduces need for spare parts inventory and training costs, and provides a common architectural base that covers office locations from 8-450 users.

Multiple Network and System Availability Options
Networks to a central External Call Controller (ECC) for telephony control functions.

As a networked gateway the G700 significantly reduces costs by enabling telephony administration to be handled centrally.

Internal Call Controller (ICC)
Supports configuration of an internal S8300 Media Server as an Internal Call Controller. In this mode the G700 acts as a standalone telephony gateway/server.

The ICC option allows enterprises to deploy G700 solutions today even if they have not yet upgraded their central sites to Avaya Communication Manager 2.1.
