G150 Gateway

This is a powerful converged networking solution that packs an IP telephony gateway, Wireless Access Point, LAN switch, and WAN router, into a survivable, compact chassis. Designed to be a complete voice/data networking solution, the G150 Media Gateway is ideally suited for enterprises with distributed branch office locations requiring 2-12 extensions. An advanced TDM/IP architecture provides seamless connectivity and communications between analog and H.323 telephony devices and applications. Enterprises benefit long-term by leveraging existing telephony investments while supporting an evolution to IP telephony.

The Avaya G150 is also an edge router designed to support the consolidation of voice and data traffic over IP. Available WAN Slot for Optional voice WAN card (V.35, V.24, X.21, T1, and Quad-BRI) interfaces. Alternatively the G150 Media Gateway can connect to an external WAN device via a fixed 10/100 Ethernet WAN router port.

Benefits
  • Networked Telephony: The Avaya networked server/gateway architecture allows enterprises to design and administer telephony services for all remote branch office locations from one central location.
  • Business Continuity: The G150 provides branch office users with a resilient system that continues to provide telephony call control even if the connection between the office and primary headquarters is lost.
  • Emergency Transfer Relay: An Emergency Transfer Relay (ETR) feature allows emergency calls even in the event of power failure.
  • Multi-Protocol Capability: Seamless TDM/IP support allows enterprises to take an evolutionary approach to IP telephony migration by maximizing investment protection for many existing devices.
  • Converged All-in-One Device: The G150 integrates telephony, data switching, and wireless into one box, reducing the overhead and complexity of managing disparate systems.
Features

Multi-Protocol Support
An integrated TDM/IP architecture supports a variety of station and trunk interface options including IP telephones and analog telephones, Analog , T1, ISDN PRI and ISDN BRI trunks, and WAN data lines.

The G150 can be configured for integration into a wide variety of all TDM, hybrid TDM/IP and all IP Telephony environments, giving enterprises great flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.

Enhanced Local Survivability
The G150 includes integrated Enhanced Local Survivability that takes over telephony control in the event communication with the main site is lost. Some of the enhanced capabilities include ANI/CLID, supervised/unsupervised transfers, local voice messaging, etc.

Enhanced Local Survivability increases communication availability in remote offices by providing telephony control support during WAN outages.

Integrated Data Architecture The G150 includes integrated wireless, LAN, WAN, and VPN capabilities.

Reduces the need for costly data networking infrastructure.

Multiple Network and System Availability Options Networks to a centralized Communications Applications such as the Avaya Communication Manager and the Avaya Modular Messaging application.

Administration and maintenance is streamlined as a single set of applications serve an entire organization including the branch offices. It also allows users to "log-in" and access their telephony capability anywhere on the enterprise network.

Survivable Voicemail
The G150 includes local voicemail survivability.

Reduces business disruptions because remote sites still have voicemail when in survivable mode.
