Communication Manager System Management
Communication Manager Systems Management is the ideal complement to the capabilities of both the Basic Administration Tools and Enterprise Integrated Management Offers for enterprises implementing IP telephony that require management of centralized Communication Manager media servers with distributed media gateways.
Designed for large DEFINITY® and S8700/S8710 Media Server configurations, Communication Manager Systems Management provides network administration teams with the ability to structure remote multi-device/multi-administrator management of the converged network, with access defined through multiple custom privilege groups.
Communication Manager System Management also provides a complete fault and performance management solution that combines system-wide map visibility of the entire converged network with drill-down capability and reporting for voice systems and a wide variety of adjuncts such as AUDIX, Conversant, CMS, MCU, and Intuity Interchange.
Features:
Enterprise Survivable Server Support
Using Fault and Performance Manager, enterprises deploying fault tolerant networks gain a complete hierarchical view of Avaya Enterprise Survivable Servers (ESS) and their associated port networks, and can manage port network moves between servers from one central point.
Simplified monitoring and management of network survivable systems, and more timely response to network events requiring management intervention.
Integrated Helpdesk Functionality
Upon system notification of alarms/messages, the integrated helpdesk can launch the Communication Manager maintenance manual with detailed information on the alarm in question.
Interpretation of system alarms and messages is greatly simplified.
Industry Standard Platforms With Standard Open Interface
Open and standards-based integration layer to Avaya Media Servers, Media Gateways, Data Switches and Avaya Wireless LAN Access Points. Integrated Management complies with widely accepted standards such as Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), extensible Markup Language (XML) and runs on servers using Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
This standards-based approach means that users don't have to worry about proprietary software standards that might be incompatible with the systems they are using.
Web-Based User Interface
Integrated Management provides a common Web-based user interface that gives network administrators graphical and text-format views of devices, network maps, network quality of service (QoS) policies, voice announcements, device faults, IP voice performance levels and other key network performance data.
By providing network-wide information and control capabilities through a common interface that’s easy to understand, Integrated Management helps network administrators work more efficiently to keep their network operating at peak performance.
Optimization Of Personnel Resources
Integrated Management features reduce the need for data re-entry, freeing resources for other activities. A web-based interface and online help, make the Integrated Management easier to use.
MultiSite Administration, can reduce data re-entry by automatically creating or deleting customized INTUITY™ and DEFINITY® AUDIX® voice mailboxes at the same time that a station is added, removed or changed.
Lower Cost of Ownership
Effective system management and increased administrator productivity helps lower the cost of ownership of the total converged solution.
Reduce costs with a management suite that is scalable and interoperable, providing investment protection.
