Avaya 5602 Telephone

The standards-based Avaya 5600 Series IP Telephones, developed specifically to meet the needs of small and medium businesses, bring rich features and functions directly to the desktop, while also supporting desktop applications above and beyond telephony

The 5602 IP Telephone is an entry-level telephone with two programmable call appearance/feature keys, ten fixed feature buttons, and display.
The 5602SW offers the same functionality plus an integrated two-port Ethernet switch.

Both the 5602 and 5602SW can run either the H.323 protocol, forintegration with traditional Avaya IP Telephony Servers and Gateways, or the SIP protocol, for support of SIP Communications Servers such as the Avaya Converged Communications Server as well as 3rd party SIP proxys.

There is no need to retrain people to use Avaya IP Telephones, because they use the same familiar operations as other Avaya phones.

Simplified Wiring with a Single 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN Connection
Helps reduce wiring and installation costs. The wiring can be further simplified by using the available 802.3af-based Power over Ethernet capability to deliver power to the phone over the LAN, rather than using a wall plug.

Industry-standard Protocol Support
Delivers high-quality features based upon industry standards, rather than proprietary solutions, for better interoperability.
Avaya IP Telephones operate with industry-standard protocols and advanced software, including:
  • H.323 and SIP protocols for voice communication over an Internet Protocol network
  • G.711 and G.729A/B voice coders a variety of Quality of Service capabilities
      Including:
    • UDP Port selection at Layer 4
    • Diffserv priority numbering at Layer 3
    • 802.1p/q at Layer 2
  • The IP telephones support the 802.3af Power over Ethernet standard.
Simplified Software Provisioning imple, centralized software provisioning can help reduce implementation and maintenance expense.

End users can access IP Telephone software upgrades and enhancements on the Avaya Support Web site. For example, SIP software for the Avaya 5602/5602SW can be downloaded from this site to a TFTP server for enterprise-wide provisioning. New releases of software are provisioned in this manner.

Web Browser, Local Speed Dial, and Call Log Applications Benefit Access to web-based applications and information as well as the added efficiencies of speed dials and call logs stored in the telephone.
